@matt they gave me a brand new WiFi 6 modem . The only difference cabled would make at this point is a slightly better download speed? Will test later when I install my server. Do you get fiber in Oslo?

@moiety Pretty sure we have fiber. I think I need a new modem and also to make sure the provider (which recently changed hands) isn't fucking with it.

My subscription says it should be Broadband 500 - which is 500 down and 500 up for fiber (or 20 mbps for what they call hybridfiber).

Speeds I get are more like their Broadband 200 package which is 200 down and 20 up.

Yeah, it's a thing I've started after a small research experience when I was in engineering school. Worked for a month or two in research (not good, but 🤷‍♀️ ).
They were naming all their machines after natural phenomenon (hurricane, storm...).
I thought it was a really good practice to have a theme and stick to it

The "bad" thing about my theme is that I am not knowledged in mineralogy
