Even if you're not doing tech things otherwise, you should have your own domain for emails.

Being able to move from one provider to another one without having to change adresses is cool imo


But also, email providers should make that service easier to host host your mail and domain so non-tech people don't have to deal with DNS.

@Vyen Would need some good cooperation with a lot of DNS providers, but yeah from an user perspective this'd be very good

mailproviders can just do the dns hosting and registering themselves if it's just used for mail and offer support otherwise.

Also, they usually offer some migration service anyway so they can also extend that to domain transfers
